Couture & Croissants
It's the fashion capital of the world for a reason!
My mom and I recently traveled to Paris and London on a long-awaited, rescheduled trip from 2020 (thanks, covid). It just so happened to fall during Paris Fashion Week, making the experience even more exciting. Paris has always been at the forefront of fashion, so I was on high alert, taking note of the trends and styles as I walked through the city. The number one thing I noticed was how effortlessly chic everyone seemed. They were stylish without trying too hard, and that simplicity is what made them look their best. While many of these trends have already made their way to the U.S. and beyond, thanks to social media, I’m definitely planning to follow suit. After all, who wouldn’t want to channel their inner Parisian woman? Here are a few of the recurring themes I took note of in Paris:
Eyeglasses (even if you don’t need them). Specifically, the Miu Miu Regard Glasses
Extra long trenches- the classic Parisian trench has been taken to new lengths, with extra-long styles sweeping the streets, creating a dramatic silhouette that feels both timeless and modern.
Exhibit A & B, both in this pic:
Loafers, Loafers, Loafers (personal fave, Ive been wearing loafers for years and they go with everything and are extremely comfortable)
High socks with any shoe- High socks are no longer confined to the gym or school uniforms—they’ve become a bold fashion statement in Paris, worn with everything from loafers and moto boots to strappy heels for an elevated, fashion forward look.
Capes & Scarf Coats- capes are making a strong comeback, draped effortlessly over everything from tailored suits to casual outfits. They add elegance and elevate even the simplest outfit and set you apart from being a plain Jane.
